James “Jamo” Rubin, M.D

Jamo Rubin, M.D., is the founder of MPV and serves on the company’s board of directors. He is currently co-founder and CEO of Tenzing Health, a subsidiary of Vanguard Health Systems. Prior to Tenzing, he founded and served as executive chairman of PTRx, a pharmacy benefits manager that provides prescription drug coverage and services.

Prior to his entrepreneurial career, he worked in private practice as an anesthesiologist and as clinical associate professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Department of Anesthesiology. He is the former chairman of the Texas Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Cullen/Frost National Bank.

Rubin received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwest Medical School, trained at Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital and received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Randy Marfin

Randy Marfin joined Biophysical Corp in October 2008 as VP of Sales. Prior to that he worked for ten years at Luminex Corporation, most recently as Vice President of Strategic Development, where he was responsible for corporate strategic planning. In addition, Randy served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc, a blood-based wellness clinical laboratory, where he was responsible for business development, acquisitions, strategic planning and sales and marketing. From 1986 to 1995, he held general management, business development and sales management positions for MPC Laboratories, Damon Clinical Laboratories, Nichols Institute and Quest Diagnostics (formerly Corning).

J. Nixon “Nick” Fox

Nick focuses his practice in M&A and private equity transactions primarily in the energy, technology, life science and entertainment industries.

Nick regularly advises private equity firms, venture capital firms, and other investors in fund formation matters and acquisitions, financings, and divestitures of portfolio companies. In addition to his role as investor counsel, Nick acts as outside general counsel to a number of growth companies, from start-ups to publicly-held companies. As company counsel, Nick advises these clients on a broad array of transactional matters, including debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances (both domestic and international), as well as corporate governance, executive compensation, and general corporate matters.

Nick has more than 20 years of private practice experience in Austin, Washington, DC, and Hong Kong, in addition to three years as General Counsel of two privately-held companies in Austin, Texas. He has been recognized in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business from 2005 through 2010, as a member of the 2010 Lawdragon 3000, The Best Lawyers in America® in corporate law from 2008 to 2011, and Texas’ Best Lawyers in corporate law for 2011.

Lynn Anderson

Lynn Anderson is a seasoned finance professional.  Mr. Anderson brings a wide breadth of experience in manufacturing, financial services, and the telecommunications industry for both early stage companies and large multinational enterprises.  Mr. Anderson held several financial positions with various divisions of General Electric Company and GE Capital before becoming CFO of publicly traded Corvis Corporation and Broadwing Corporation.  Most recently he has been working with a select group of early stage companies and investors involved in consumer goods, internet video streaming, search engine technology, and medical devices.  Mr. Anderson earned his B.B.A from Kansas State University and his M.B.A from the University of Texas at Austin.
