Gary Fortin, President & Founder
Senior marketing strategist, creative director, business executive, producer and entrepreneur with a twenty-five year track record holding such positions as CEO, CMO, VP Marketing, Director Business Development, and Consultant for private and public companies in the high technology, broadcast media, entertainment, healthcare, and energy industries including, Voxpath Networks, GTE, AT&T, Schlumberger, Capitol Records, Breakaway Technologies, and Occendo, LLC. Amongst his many achievements, Mr. Fortin conceptualized and implemented Aperian, Inc., a national Internet infrastructure and content distribution company headquartered in Austin, Texas with over 350 employees that achieved a NASDAQ national listing, a $1.5 billion market cap, and raised $130 million in total funding.
Mr. Fortin’s degree from the University of Maryland focused on marketing and business administration and was obtained while serving in the U.S. Military while overseas. He has received numerous national and international awards for creative direction, corporate communications, advertising, and strategic marketing with a specific focus on launching new products and brands.
Ryan H. Masten, Chief Technology Officer & Founder
Most recently, Ryan held the position – President and CEO of Dash Interactive, Inc., a leading software and design firm in San Antonio, TX. Ryan’s medical software and interface designs have received editorial coverage in Readers Digest, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, SmartMoney, Prevention Magazine, and the British Medical Journal. Ryan also served as the Senior Vice President of E-Commerce Solutions for Assurant Global Services. Assurant Global Services acts as the Official Integration Partner for Revolution Money which has raised over $50 million from Citibank, Morgan Stanley, and Deutsche Bank.
Ryan H. Masten received a Bachelors of Business Administration in Information Technology from Colorado Technical University as well as a Masters of Science in Network Security from Capital College which is widely recognized by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security.
Michael Steffano, Director of Integration & Support
Michael has 25 years experience in software development, business startups and consulting. He co-founded Viewics Corporation in 1996, a venture capital funded software developer of advanced video technologies, products, and services based on his patented technology. His responsibilities included management of the product development team, administrative and corporate duties, fundraising, patent applications, and web / e-commerce / IT infrastructure development. Michael, with a group of Silicon Valley investors, later reacquired control of the intellectual property and successfully licensed his patent, most notably to Apple, Inc.
He has been involved with numerous healthcare projects as a technologist, including ICL / Fujitsu, where he designed and implemented multiple pharmacy data conversion projects from mainframes and minis to PC-based systems, and Cardinal Health, where he architected and led a team which implemented a generalized Medicaid EDI interface and real-time transaction management system, along with core product line enhancements, and interface design for Pyxis automated medication dispensing equipment.
An avid interest in healthcare and medical technologies inspired Michael to form Birthmarks.com in 1995, which has since become the Internet’s largest non-profit online community and resource site for information about vascular and pigmented birthmarks. He currently serves as its Executive Director.
While on a National Merit Scholarship he received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with honors, including minors in Math and Psychology from Southern Methodist University in 1983. Michael resides in Austin, Texas with his wife and daughters.
